  • The Noosa Blue Light Association "BLAST" Dance Party is held during school terms at "The J", 60 Noosa Drive, Noosa Heads QLD 4567.  For "BLAST" dates, click here

 

  • The cost is $8.00.
  • The age group is from Grade 7 to Grade 10 or 11 years to 16 years generally.
  • Younger children can attend the "Green Zone" Disco held at the Noosa J each month. (See our link page for more information)
  • The dance parties start at 7pm and finish at 9:30pm.
  • Smoking, Drugs and Alcohol are not permitted.
  • All Noosa Blue Light Association events are fully supervised by Queensland Police Service officers and community volunteers holding blue cards issued by the Commission for Children and Young People and Child Guardian.
  • Participants who attend the events will not be permitted to leave prior to closure time unless extenuating circumstances exist.
  • Pass-outs are not issued.

  • Blue Light is a successful program internationally, with every State and Territory in Australia participating, as well as New Zealand, Fiji, Cook Islands and Papua New Guinea.
  • Blue Light aims to assist the police to rectify the imbalance of pro-active and re-active policing where young people are concerned. It does this by providing young people with positive lifestyle alternatives and strategies to avoid becoming an offender or victim of crime.
  • Blue Light promotes the police as offering an integrated pro-active youth service which takes a holistic approach to helping young people.

 

Objectives of Blue Light Events


  • To provide safe, healthy, supervised entertainment for young people in an environment which excludes drugs, alcohol consumption and violence.
  • To develop and encourage better relations and improved communication between young people, Police and adult members of the community.
  • To prevent the occurrence of crime with youths, either as victims or perpetrators, whilst at the events.
  • To ensure funds raised are used for persons or organizations within the Noosa community, particularly those relating to young people.
